Background

Background

Olive Street Design is a full-service digital marketing agency specializing in creative designs on the Duda platform. The agency supports Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and has worked with over 1,300 clients, including prominent names like the Obama administration, Harvard, and the University of Florida. Olive Street Design prides itself on helping SMEs succeed and compete against bigger players by providing high-quality services at reasonable prices, often charging significantly less than competitors.

Challenge

A few years ago, one of Olive Street Design’s customers received a letter saying that their website was not digitally accessible and could face legal action. The team at Olive Street Design, led by Nat Rosasco, had heard about ADA compliance, but they weren’t entirely familiar with digital accessibility. After receiving their client’s letter, Nat and team rolled up their sleeves and decided to get serious about their digital accessibility priorities.

Olive Street Design set out to find a solution  that could deliver added value to clients, help grow revenue within their customer base, and address the increasing need for web accessibility in a way that was easily scalable.

  • Deliver added value to clients
  • Grow revenue within customer base
  • Find scalable solution for web accessibility

When it came to an accessibility solution, we wanted to make sure it aligned with our values of treating people how we want to be treated and would work to build our SME clients up so they can succeed and compete against bigger players worldwide.

Solution

Olive Street Design dedicated considerable time to consulting with lawyers and exploring various accessibility solutions to ensure the best protection for their clients. While many solutions offered similar information about accessibility, none delved deeply into the specifics to clarify the current landscape. AudioEye distinguished itself by providing Olive Street Design with a comprehensive and practical explanation of digital accessibility benefits, essential for effectively understanding and communicating these advantages to their clients.

The simplicity of AudioEye's implementation process, facilitated by an existing integration with Duda, along with excellent support from the AudioEye team, made it effortless for Olive Street Design to adopt and promote the solution. This ease of use was a key factor in the agency's decision to prioritize accessibility, thereby enhancing its reputation and strengthening client trust.

Results

Results

Since integrating AudioEye, Olive Street Design has seen a 7% increase in overall revenue, with notable growth in new client acquisitions and recurring revenue.

Following an initial email marketing campaign, nearly a quarter of Olive Street Design’s customer base signed up for AudioEye, which led to 5-digit annual recurring revenue growth within the first few weeks of promotion. The team more than doubled forecasted acquisitions within the first month, with over 260 clients now actively using AudioEye on their sites.

A key differentiator: Nat and the Olive Street Design team now include a mandatory digital accessibility compliance agreement before each website build. They can either select one box, which says, "Yes, I'm agreeing to compliance," or the other option stating, "No, I understand that I am opening my website up to legal risks here."

"This really shook people up and made them realize that we were taking compliance seriously, and it also emphasized the point that accessibility is simply the right thing to do."

Commitment to Accessibility

AudioEye's partnership has helped Olive Street Design establish itself as a thought leader and advocate for web accessibility.

Nat has had many conversations with people who would say that digital accessibility wasn’t relevant to them or that they did not need it. He compares it to a building with stairs leading into the entrance. For that building, it is obvious that they need a ramp so that people with disabilities have a way to gain access. With digital accessibility, it’s not as obvious, but the need is still there.

AudioEye has provided continuous educational support, which has led Olive Street Design to advocate for accessibility more vigorously than most other agencies in America. The agency foresees a future where 75 to 100 percent of websites will require some level of accessibility and aims to stay ahead of this trend, a goal it is currently achieving.

By educating clients on the importance of accessibility and staying ahead of industry trends, Nat and the team at Olive Street Design are able to reinforce the agency’s reputation for innovation and client advocacy, while working to advance digital accessibility and compliance across the web.
